Prayers for Nice, France

My heartfelt prayers and sincere condolences go out to the victims and families of the terrible tragedy that occurred last night in Nice, France. 84 people were brutally killed and 50 individuals are hanging on to life due to yet another terrorist attack of senseless slaughter. I pray the leaders of the world will gather in unity to obliterate such darkness.

-All my love.

Body Positive

Body image is something that we all struggle with. Women, men, young girls, the beautiful model on the cover of a fashion magazine, the movie star walking down the red carpet, EVERYONE. No body can stand back and say that there isn't a single thing on their entire body they wouldn't want to change/improve, even if some of us won't admit it. Personally, I wish my stomach was flatter but no matter what I do I have always had a bit of a tummy and my chest...geez! Life would be so much simpler if I didn't have DD boobs. However, I have learned to accept and even love these parts of myself. In a world of social media, we can't help but compare ourselves to other people and wish to be more like them. It is okay to look up to someone and have motivation to make improvements but we need to stop being so hard on ourselves. Shut out all the outside voices and learn to accept yourself the way God made you. Own that huggable roll, those curvy hips, your bootylicious back side, your heroic scars, the stretch marks that say I'M A WOMAN DAMN IT! Love those unique parts of yourself that make us all truly beautiful.

XOXO

Polo Sundays

Who doesn't love spending their Sundays with fabulous people watching gorgeous horses (and their riders) play polo on a breathtaking plantation?! Brookland Plantation, on Edisto Island, has the best of both worlds...miles of sprawling green grass, hundred year old oak trees and still located right on the water. Thank you Thomas and Landon for the fabulous day and happy birthday!

Charleston Fashion Week

This was my first year sitting in the audience of Charleston Fashion Week instead of walking the runway and let me tell you...it is like two whole different worlds going on. Back stage is loud and chaotic with models, designers, hair/makeup artists, photographers, every one running around trying to put on the most perfect show. When you are sitting in the audience it is a whole different experience all together. For starters, you can wear whatever the hell you want and actually be semi conformable in it. Besides that, I was able to relax, enjoy the clothes and eat/drink (my favorite perk). So here are a few of the looks that I rocked the (streets) runway in. Check out each look individually in the fashion dedicated part of my blog, Fashiontopia.

Love Your Body

Body shaming, why do we do it? Why do we stand in front of the mirror and examine every inch of ourselves? We compare, criticize, and are just all around way too damn harsh when it comes to our 'image'.  Too skinny, too curvy, big boobs, small boobs, fat ass, no ass, tall, short, the list goes on and on. We see these beautiful people in magazines and want to be just like them; I'm not pointing fingers, I have done it myself. I've hung pictures of VS models on my fridge and around my kitchen to 'motivate' myself to loose weight, but is it really motivating us, or shaming us? Obviously, those women are beautiful but HELLO! have you ever heard of photo retouching? We shouldn't be hating our bodies and how God made us, we need to embrace ourselves. Of course we need the proper diet and daily exercise to be healthy, but just because you might have a little tummy or voluptuous hips doesn't mean you don't have a perfect body.  I have grown to love that I am built like a damn WOMAN! I have rolls when I bend over, D cup boobs, curvy hips, and yes, the tops of my thighs kiss each other. And you know what? Screw societies standards, I am beautiful and so are you.
